Who I AM
Born and raised in rural Nebraska in a small town of 8,000 people, I was a rambunctious child. Always the class clown. Although music has played a role in shaping the man I am today. I have always loved the arts, whether it was fine art, poetry, music or any avenue that allowed expression. I, myself, am a poet and artist, my gift has always been writing. Although it took me almost 16 years to realize I could write such lovely things. As a kid I knew it was in me, although was often to afraid to share it with the world. It very well could’ve remained dormant if it wasn’t for Mrs. Thompson’s Junior year Creative Writing Course. If fate hadn’t intervened, and for her and her encouragement, I may have never attempted to write creatively. Up until that point my expression was drawing and painting. I’ve never really thanked her for that, but God knows and that’s enough for me. However, maybe I should let her know if I ever run into her again. But I digress, my inspiration for starting this blog was to get music back into my soul and share songs that have impacted my life with the hopes that they may impact someone else’s too. Also allowing myself the freedom and retrospection to put these thoughts to paper, provides me a bit of catharsis as well.
